Registration 2012
Due to the increased volume of campers registering each year early registration does not guarentee a campers spot, but we try our best to accomodate all that register!

Staff needed in all positions
We are in high demand of PA's (our teenage staff), Nurses, and Teddy/Smokey Leader. We could also still use assistance with Adult unit staff and Arts & Crafts/Program staff!

Welcome to Camp Friendship
|
|
|
Camp Friendship is a summer camp in the Black Hills of South Dakota
catering to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
Campers go swimming, do arts and crafts, have campfires and
cookouts, sing songs, go fishing, dress up for the
dance, perform skits, and make life-long friends.
The camp is staffed by a family of over 100 volunteers that provide one-on-one care and assistance for each camper as well as creating all of the program activities. Camp consists of two sessions of three- day overnight camps. Camp Friendship does our best to provide these services at minimal expense to each camper using funding provided by the Rapid City and South Dakota Jaycees, other service organizations, and private donations. We are insured under the liability insurance of the Boy Scouts of America.
So what is Camp Friendship? It is a place where people come for fun, to be loved, and to have the experiences of an extraordinary life. Camp Friendship IS acceptance, possibility, and freedom.

From Rapid City:
Head West on Hwy 44 (out Jackson Blvd) all the way to Hwy 385. Turn right (north towards Deadwood) on Hwy 385, drive ~13 miles, 2.5 miles past Roubaix Lake is the turn off. It is on the right hand side of the road, onto PahaSapa Rd. Please be watching as it comes up very fast. Turn right and drive ~3 miles on the gravel road (be very careful on big curves!) this road will take you right into camp.
From Deadwood:
Head South on Hwy 385 (towards Pactola Lake) for approx. 12 miles. The turn off is about 1-2 miles past the "Boondocks". Paha Sapa Rd. will be on the left side of Hwy 385 and it is just a little after the top of a hill, so be watching! Turn left and drive ~3 miles on the gravel road (be very careful on big curves!) this road will take you right into camp. |
